As the summer travel rush fades, airlines are rolling out new flight connections across Europe and beyond for the cooler months. From direct links to the Canary Islands to expanded services in Southeast Asia, the 2026 autumn and winter schedules offer fresh options for both leisure and business travellers.
North America to the Canary Islands
Air Canada will introduce the only non-stop flights between North America and Tenerife starting in late October. From 25 October, Toronto will see twice-weekly services on Thursdays and Sundays, with return flights on Mondays and Fridays. A second route from Montréal will begin on 31 October, operating on Saturdays with returns on Sundays. These flights connect the largest of the Canary Islands directly to Canadian hubs, bypassing traditional stopovers in mainland Spain.
European Carriers Expand Long-Haul and Regional Networks
Air France will resume seasonal flights to the Maldives from 18 December, with twice-weekly departures from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Malé running until 7 March 2027. The airline is also increasing its Paris–Punta Cana service to three times a week, reinforcing its Caribbean presence.
Discover Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, is adding two new Moroccan destinations: Frankfurt to Agadir and Munich to Fès, the latter being the only direct connection from Munich to that historic city. The leisure carrier will also fly from Munich to Ivalo in Finnish Lapland from mid-December to mid-April, once a week on Wednesdays.
Finnair will launch its first-ever flights to Australia on 25 October, with a daily service from Helsinki to Melbourne via Bangkok. The Nordic carrier is also expanding its winter programme with direct flights from Brussels and Zurich to Kittilä, and from Paris to Rovaniemi, both in Finnish Lapland, operating twice weekly.
Low-Cost Carriers Boost Intra-European and North African Routes
easyJet is adding 13 new winter routes from ten UK airports. Highlights include its first service to Nuremberg, Germany, from Manchester (from 2 November), and from London Gatwick and Luton later in November. The airline will also fly from London Luton and London Southend to Rabat, Morocco, and from London Southend to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. New domestic connections include Bristol and Belfast to Budapest, Liverpool to Budapest, Edinburgh to Tromsø, and Glasgow to Kraków. easyJet is also launching its first international route from the Isle of Man, with weekly flights to Geneva starting 19 December.
Eurowings, the German low-cost carrier, is adding routes from Berlin and Hamburg to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, from Cologne/Bonn to Klagenfurt (Austria) and Pristina (Kosovo), and from Stuttgart and Hanover to Cairo, Egypt. A new winter route from Hanover to Alicante, Spain, is also planned.
Asian and Caribbean Connections
Lufthansa will launch direct flights from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 25 October. Passengers flying from Munich can experience the airline's new Allegris first-class cabin on routes to Singapore, Washington D.C., and Cape Town.
Singapore Airlines will add Madrid to its network via Barcelona from 26 October, with five weekly flights, marking its 15th European destination and second in Spain.
ITA Airways is entering the Caribbean market with direct flights from Rome Fiumicino to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, starting 30 November. Initially weekly on Mondays, the service will increase to twice weekly with the addition of Sundays.
Spanish tour operator Soltour is preparing for the December long weekend (5–8 December) coinciding with Constitution Day and the Immaculate Conception holiday, though specific new routes have not yet been detailed.
For travellers planning autumn getaways or winter escapes, these new routes offer greater flexibility and access to both familiar and emerging destinations. As always, booking early is advisable, especially for seasonal services that may fill quickly.
