With just days to go before Céline Dion steps back into the spotlight after a six-year break, fans across the globe are finalising their travel plans to see the Canadian superstar perform in a city she calls her second home. New data from Amadeus Travel Intelligence shows an 11% year-on-year increase in international flight searches to Paris ahead of her residency at La Défense Arena, where she will deliver 16 concerts in September and October, followed by a further 10 shows in May 2027.

Americas lead the charge

The surge is largely driven by travellers from the Americas. The United States accounts for 26.5% of all searches to Paris during the residency dates, followed by Brazil at 11% and Canada at 7.4%. Together, these three markets represent nearly 45% of the global growth in search traffic to the French capital, according to Amadeus.

Flight bookings have also climbed, with a 5% overall increase led by US, Brazilian, Canadian, and Mexican travellers. The so-called “Céline effect” is particularly visible in Asia-Pacific: bookings from Thailand have grown by 200% compared with the same period last year, while Japan has seen a 40% rise. Australia, South Korea, and India are also showing notably stronger demand for Paris travel.

Within Europe, travellers account for 26.5% of all searches to Paris during the concert dates, with Italy, Spain, and the UK among the most enthusiastic markets. However, European searches have not translated into bookings at the same rate: the continent holds just a 5% share of actual flight bookings, with Spanish and Italian travellers making up the majority of those.

Domestic French travel and longer stays

Closer to home, eight of the top ten domestic bookings to Paris during Dion's performances originate from Toulouse, Nice, and Ajaccio in Corsica. Bookings from southern France account for nearly 79% of domestic travel, with Corsican cities Bastia and Ajaccio showing year-on-year growth of 55% and 35%, respectively.

Amadeus also highlights a “culture tripping” trend, where pop culture events are central to travel planning. Hotel data points to a 6% spike in medium-length stays of six to thirteen nights, suggesting that many fans are extending their trips to explore more of France and Europe while attending the concerts.

Earlier research by Natixis CIB projects that Dion's 16 autumn dates will attract 480,000 spectators to the French capital, underscoring the economic impact of her return. The residency is not just a musical milestone but a significant driver for Parisian tourism and hospitality, echoing the broader pattern of major cultural events boosting travel demand across Europe.

For those planning a trip, Paris remains a hub of cultural activity, with the Lisbon plane tracker offering a unique perspective on European air travel. Meanwhile, the continent's political landscape continues to evolve, with Germany's political taboos being tested and Italy warning of Russian meddling ahead of its general election. As Dion takes the stage, her concerts serve as a reminder of the cultural ties that bind Europe and North America.
