Winter is coming, and with it a fresh crop of ski accommodation across Europe. From the Dolomites to the French Alps, the 2026-2027 season sees a mix of brand-new builds, thoughtful renovations, and a few long-awaited returns. Whether you're after a luxury spa retreat or a family-friendly base, there's something new to consider.
New openings in the Alps and beyond
In the French resort of Les Menuires, Fahrenheit Seven opens its third Alpine property on 11 December 2026, following its earlier successes in Val Thorens and Courchevel. Located on the ski front in the Preyerand district, the hotel offers direct access to the vast Les 3 Vallées ski area, the largest interconnected ski domain in the world. Guests can expect an in-house ski boutique, a bar, restaurants, a terrace, and an indoor pool.
Over in Italy, The First Cortina, by The Pavilions, is scheduled to open in early December 2026 on Corso Italia, in the heart of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The 76-room hotel puts guests within easy reach of the Dolomites while keeping them close to the town's après-ski scene. Some suites come with private wellness facilities and terraces overlooking the mountains. Dining options include Zuma for contemporary Japanese and Velo for Italian, and there's a dedicated ski room and the REVĪVŌ Spa.
Austria's Zillertal valley welcomes The Green Resort in Uderns from December 2026. The hotel combines a ski base with a substantial wellness offering, including a 3,300-square-metre indoor and outdoor spa area with pools, saunas, and steam baths. For snowsports enthusiasts, the seven-night winter package includes accommodation, meals, a six-day Zillertal Super Ski Pass per person, and wellness treatments.
In Switzerland, The Ski Lodge opens in Verbier in December 2026. This 36-room boutique hotel sits close to Place Centrale, offering easy access to the resort's famous off-piste terrain. The state-of-the-art spa features an indoor swimming pool, cold plunge, sauna, hammam, and relaxation area. The hotel's bar, The Listening Room, is open to guests and visitors alike.
Families heading to Flachau in Austria have a new option with the Schiefergut Family Resort, opening in December 2026. The four-star property has 28 suites and chalets, located near the ski lifts of Snow Space Salzburg, the Achter Jet lift, and cross-country trails.
Renovations and returns in France
In Morzine, the Hôtel Le Tremplin completes a three-year renovation with the opening of 13 self-contained holiday suites for the 2026-2027 season. The property's bar, restaurant, and après-ski terrace reopened last winter, and now the full hotel is back in business.
Also in Morzine, the former Les Airelles hotel returns as Garance Hotel & Spa in December 2026. This four-star Mont-Blanc Collection property is close to the ski lifts and the legendary Portes du Soleil ski area. It will have 65 rooms, a brasserie, a cocktail bar, and dedicated spaces for children and teenagers. Wellness facilities include a pool, Nordic spa, treatment rooms, and areas for yoga and fitness.
While not a new property, Les Gets in Haute-Savoie is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its first ski lift. The resort will open a new snowpark beneath the La Croix chairlift, designed for beginners and replacing the mini boardercross course. Partial opening is planned for 12 December 2026, with full opening on 19 December, and the season runs until 11 April 2027.
For those planning further ahead, Raffles Hotels & Resorts will debut its first alpine resort in Courchevel 1850 in 2028, adding another luxury option to the heart of Les 3 Vallées.
As Europe's ski infrastructure continues to evolve, these new properties reflect a broader trend towards wellness, direct slope access, and family-friendly amenities. Whether you're a seasoned skier or a first-timer, the coming winter offers plenty of reasons to hit the slopes.
