Céline Dion's long-awaited return to the stage is reshaping Paris's hospitality scene. The Canadian singer's residency in the French capital has not only sent flight searches soaring but also inspired hotels to embrace the 'gig tripping' trend, where fans turn concerts into full-fledged travel experiences.

At Le Méridien Paris Arc de Triomphe, Marriott Bonvoy has introduced the 'Paris, I'm Ready' Suite, a themed room that transports guests backstage. Starting at €659 per night, the suite features a microphone wall, a beauty station, illuminated mirrors, and concert-inspired artwork, making the pre-show ritual part of the stay.

For those not booking the suite, Marriott Bonvoy has launched The Paris Playlist, a series of experiences running from 12 September to 18 October. These include music-inspired gastronomy, fragrance workshops, interactive listening sessions, photo moments, and creative activities, all designed to bring the concert experience into the hotel.

One standout offering is 'Paris Encore: A Fan Singalong', a free two-hour walking tour that pays tribute to Dion's relationship with Paris. Guests visit iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Seine River, with a champagne stop along the way.

Marriott Bonvoy members can also use their loyalty points to claim exclusive experiences, including premium concert packages and hotel stays. For Dion's 2027 shows, the 'Ultimate Céline Dion Experience' includes a backstage tour, hospitality tickets, and a night in the themed suite.

Gig tripping: a growing travel trend

The excitement around Dion's residency is part of a broader shift in travel behaviour. 'Gig tripping'—building holidays around concerts and live events—is on the rise. Travellers are no longer content with a simple post-show hotel; they want immersive experiences that extend the concert's magic.

Hotels are responding by offering themed rooms and event-inspired packages. Marriott Bonvoy has embraced this trend, drawing inspiration from Dion's own travel tips, such as starting the day with coffee, packing versatile shoes, and always travelling with music.

Dion's Paris comeback has been a major cultural moment, as her emotional return marks a new chapter after a rare illness. The residency has also driven a surge in flight searches, underscoring the city's appeal as a destination for music fans.

While Paris is the current focus, the trend extends beyond France. Hotels across Europe are capitalising on the demand for unique experiences, from new luxury properties in Türkiye to historic hotels reborn on Venice Lido.

For those who can't make it to Paris, Dion's travel philosophy offers a way to channel the spirit: enjoy a coffee, pack for every occasion, and let music guide your journey. As the residency continues, Paris is proving that a concert can be the starting point for an unforgettable European adventure.
