Paros, one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea, has long been a favorite among travelers seeking a blend of traditional Greek charm and modern amenities. Now, a new boutique hotel from Hyatt is raising the bar for luxury on the island.

The Parian Chronicle Hotel Paros, named after the ancient marble inscription that chronicles Greek history and mythology, offers just 50 rooms and suites. Each one comes with either a private pool or a Jacuzzi, a feature that sets it apart in a market where such exclusivity is rare.

“Parian Chronicle Hotel Paros is a place that moves to the rhythm of the island, unhurried, generous and deeply rooted in the story of Paros,” said Nikos Koutroumanidis, the hotel’s general manager. “We have worked to create a sanctuary that honours this extraordinary setting while offering every comfort our guests deserve.”

Design and Atmosphere

Designed by Athens-based Makridis Associates, the property draws inspiration from the island’s famed marble. The palette is a mix of soft neutrals and warm earth tones, creating a calm, refined atmosphere. The hotel is exclusively for guests aged 13 and above, ensuring a quiet, adult-oriented environment.

The 120-square-metre Nipson Spa is a centerpiece of the property, featuring a fitness centre, two single-sex saunas, a double treatment room, and a large outdoor pool. For those looking to cool off during the summer heat, the hotel’s pool is a welcome addition — especially as Europe's finest hotel pools become a talking point during heatwaves.

Culinary Experience

The hotel’s signature restaurant, NAAO, offers all-day dining with a focus on local recipes and seasonal ingredients. Breakfast includes freshly baked breads, herbs, olive oil, honey, and regional cheeses. Dinner features dishes prepared using Cycladic techniques such as curing, sun drying, and grilling, paired with wines from Paros and the wider Cyclades.

This emphasis on local produce and traditional methods reflects a broader trend in Greek hospitality, where authenticity and terroir are increasingly valued. The restaurant’s menu changes with the seasons, ensuring that ingredients are at their peak.

Location and Accessibility

The hotel is situated in the village of Kampos, a 20-minute drive from Parikia Port. Ferries from Athens take around three hours, while Paros Airport is just 10 minutes away. The airport is served by domestic routes from Athens, Thessaloniki, and Heraklion, as well as seasonal charter flights from Klagenfurt and Graz in Austria, making it accessible for European travelers.

Paros itself is one of the most popular islands in the Cyclades, known for its whitewashed villages, sandy beaches, and vibrant nightlife. The new hotel adds a layer of luxury to the island’s offerings, appealing to those who want to explore the region without sacrificing comfort.

For travelers seeking a more intimate experience, the Parian Chronicle Hotel Paros offers a compelling alternative to larger resorts. Its focus on privacy, design, and local culture aligns with the growing demand for iconic European hotels that blend heritage with modern luxury.
