Nômade Temple, the hotel brand born in Tulum, has expanded its European footprint with a new property on the northern coast of Ibiza. Located in Portinatx, the 182-room resort sits directly on a secluded beach, offering guests a quieter alternative to the island's more crowded southern hotspots.

The design preserves the original resort's iconic arches and terraces, but the concept goes beyond aesthetics. According to the company, the project is intended to "look back to a time when the island functioned as a meeting point for creative communities, where music, art and human connection shaped everyday life."

Miguel Isla, CEO of Nomade People, said: "We are not interested in replicating the predictable luxury model that defines much of Ibiza today. The island has a deeper history – one rooted in freedom, creativity and connection – and that's what we want to bring back."

Wellness, music, and gastronomy under one roof

The resort will host year-round retreats, artist residencies, and ritual events, blending wellness, music, and food. Its wellness area, GÖN House of Healing Ibiza, includes hammam steam rooms, dry saunas, cold plunges, a warm mineral water flotation tank, and treatment rooms for facials and massages.

Dining options are equally varied. KUU JŪ offers an omakase experience that pairs Japanese techniques with Mediterranean ingredients such as red prawns, citrus, and island herbs. TAVLA, the all-day restaurant, focuses on charcoal-grilled meats, marinated seafood, and seasonal vegetables. For those who prefer to eat by the sea, 4FU3GOS serves a seafood-heavy menu on the beach. Dante's Hifi, inspired by Japanese listening bars, is set to become a highlight for music lovers, while Café Libre provides healthy breakfast dishes, specialty coffee, and smoothies.

The culinary team works with local fishermen, producers, and growers to minimize the resort's ecological footprint, a commitment that aligns with broader efforts to protect the Balearic Islands' environment. For context, invasive species are already a concern for Ibiza's unique wildlife, making sustainable practices all the more relevant.

Nômade Temple Ibiza is a 40-minute drive from Ibiza Airport, which is served year-round from Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, and Valencia, with seasonal connections from Athens, Rome, Frankfurt, London, Milan, and other major cities.

The opening adds to a busy year for Ibiza's hospitality scene. The Parador de Ibiza, set within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed acropolis, and the five-star BLESS Ibiza The Site in Playa d'en Bossa are also welcoming guests. For those planning a visit, hotel breakfasts can be a deciding factor, and Nômade Temple's Café Libre is likely to compete.

Nômade Temple already operates hotels in Tulum and Holbox in Mexico, as well as a property in Madrid. The Ibiza opening marks its second European location, following the Spanish capital. As the brand expands, it remains to be seen whether its vision of a more authentic, creative Ibiza will resonate with travelers seeking an alternative to the island's party-centric reputation.
